What do I do?

My passion is family portraits and wedding photography. I enjoy capturing organic and candid moments that really speak to the heart of your event.

In fact, I love photographing people, no matter the occasion! Be it toddlers or adults, from newborn photography, to couple photography, indoor events or outdoor weddings, or even digital or analog 35mm film (like this wedding I also photographed on 35mm black and white film). I pride myself in being a versatile portrait photographer.

And I am lucky, because I get to be part of some really joyous celebrations. Celebrating relationships, life, family, and careers. I always feel more like a guest who happens to be holding a camera or two, instead of a hired, freelance photographer.

How did it start?

It all started for me over 10 years ago in 2011 when I picked up my first camera, an old analog SLR camera from the late ‘70s, while studying to become a film-maker and audio engineer. Photographing soon turned from a hobby, into an obsession to learn everything there was about photography and cameras. After several years, that obsession eventually led me to quit my professional career as a film-maker and start Save the Journey Photography. An ambitious start to pursue, what I think, is the best job in the world!

Cork Wedding Photography

Choosing a wedding photographer is one of the most important decisions you’ll ever make. For me, being a wedding photographer is an absolute blast. I’ve always been touched by a couple declaring that commitment to each other, and since getting married myself in 2022, that warmth has only multiplied.

As a wedding photographer, it is also a lovely environment to work in, with everybody and the venue looking their best. I also love photographing weddings as it combines all of the other types of photography into one event. It’s a little bit of event and concert photography, mixed with a couple portrait shoot, mixed with family portraits, and candid, natural moments of everyone. Plus, there’s always something new and unique at each wedding to get excited about!

What kind of photography packages do I offer?

I wish there was an easy way of giving a photography package price, but the exact amount you can expect to pay for your photo shoot depends on a few factors. The two most important ones are:

• The type of shoot / event

• The amount of people

Once I have that information, I will be able to give you ballpark figures. Other secondary factors would be things like:

• The location of the photo shoot / venue

• If you would like to have the photos printed and framed

So if you do contact me via e-mail, you’ll be prepared for my questions. And don’t worry if your wedding is not near Cork city or even in County Cork, I will gladly travel to meet you.

One thing that remains consistent throughout all of my different photo shoots and different photography packages, is that you will always receive the edited photos in full resolution, so you can make your own prints at any time, at no extra cost. This will come in especially handy if it’s a few years down the line and you’d like to have another print or two done.

I want everyone I photograph to enjoy and use these photos as much as possible. Photos are meant to be seen!
